Re: Picture Identification

Iain, Without initials AND an RAF service number it is impossible to locate full names. Certain surnames are rather rare and you may get lucky without a service number. But, in this case, if you're dealing with a Scottish chap, well, they have different privacy laws than England and finding relative...

Re: Family Members sought

Good morning! My sincerest apologies for the late reply. I thought I would get auto notifications if I ever received a response. To answer your question, I have not been able to make contact with the Edworthy family. I was able to determine he was from Saskatoon/Canada with ties to Manitoba Canada ...

Re: Seeking crew descendants.

Re: Family Members sought

Iain,

Before I type a lot of info you may already have, have you been in contact with Edworthy's family?

Re: Information wanted on 620 Squadron aircraft and crew.

Hello,

"Bazlik" will be Sgt Victor Bazlik of Windsor, Ontario (not really "French Canada")

"Grant" was Sgt Lawrence Grant of Miami, Manitoba. His brother, James' obituary from 2011 states he is deceased, no year given.

Re: Thomas Crew on Stirling bomber came down 30/31July 1943

Bruno, The man Mrs. Vaughan is looking for was 1331932 Sgt. Ronald Henry Boxell. Service number comes from a block of numbers: 1330001 to 1340000, issued beginning Nov 1940 Uxbridge and Weston-super-Mare. Ancestry shows a family tree with a birth year of 1921, Hampshire , deceased 2001 Sussex. He ma...

Went that route, Alan, looking for a birth on freebmd for the 1925 timeframe. Nothing.

But did find one with the right parents names a few years earlier

Re: Lancaster PB634 / SR-U , No. 101 Sqdn. , lost 28.12.1944

I'm new to the forum and have joined due to my interest in PB 634. I have recently become the proud owner of the DFC group of medals earned by Fg Off Giggs who was the Rear Gunner in Lancaster PB 634 which has recently been found by your excavation. Any further details of him or the rest of the cre...
