Re: SHORT STIRLING AIRCRAFT & CREW PHOTOGRAPH'S

I earlier posted pictures of the 190 squadron. The copies I have show great detail and show the majority of personnel have a whistle attached to their lapel. And these are for....
P.S. Is there a way to load the higher quality photos.
Thanks

Re: Looking for information on Stirling Aircraft & Crews ?

Thanks for the explanation Mark.
Then it would seem EF214 is likely the one. One website listed it as a MkIII that had been converted to MkIV which I believe was a typical model for the type of transport duty carried out by 190 sqn.

Here is a list of dates and operations that my uncle recorded flying 'L'214, all with 190 SQN: 6/5/44 Tonga 7/7/44 Houndsw...

In his log book...

Re: SHORT STIRLING AIRCRAFT & CREW PHOTOGRAPH'S

This picture of 190 squadron may be of some interest. I found it in my uncle Archie McMillan's belongings. He was RCAF (J/92761) and flew with RAF squadron 190. This same picture appears on page 67 of the STIRLINGS IN ACTION WITH THE AIRBORNE FORCES book by Dennis Williams. The names of most of the ...

Re: How Many Members Family / Friends, Flew in Stirlings?

My Uncle Archie Kenzie McMillan (RCAF) flew Stirlings with 190 Sqdn and later with 46.
