My Dad was a rear gunner and saw Ops with 514 Sqdn. Your book is a great tribute to those brave young men.
Looks like the book would make a great Xmas present for Dad.

Re: Duxford
Hi, Great Pics. I visited Duxford in November 2010 on my 60th birthday. It had long been an ambition and I was not disapointed, well worth the cost. I also visited Waterbeach, Cambs where my dad was an air gunner with 514 squadron. The site is now an Army barracks with the entrance guarded by sentri...

Re: Members - Why you've chosen your 'Tag' name?
Hi,
I chose 1653 HCU as this was the unit my dad was with when converting to Stirlings in November 1944.
He then continued with 1653 HCU converting to Lancasters and then being posted to 514 Squadron.
regards,
Malcolm

Re: RAF Bomber Crewman
Hi, I also recently bought and read this book as an introducton to Bomber Command. I then gave it to Dad who read it last week and enjoyed it, bringing back old memories for him. He liked the photos, particularly as there are a few of his old squadron 514, Waterbeach, Cambs. The photo of a 514 sqdn ...
