Here is part of the dialogue I have had: my Dad Errol Edward Green died in 1998 two days before his 82nd birthday. My Mother is still alive and will soon be 91, My Mother wor...

Re: Short stirling I N3754 MG-O RAF 7 Squadron

Karacho, This is a famous picture and in fact it is the earlier version of MG-D N3641 taken taken 6th June 1941. It was first received to the Squadron in August 1940. It took part in the first raid of 7 Squadron to Rotterdam. N3641 went to 26 CF (Conversion flight) and they then brought in N6022 MG-...

Re: Operation Exodus Images & Details

Hello Pete, Thanks for the reply, I am aware that my grandfather went to Scarborough as part of the POW rehabilitation programme. I think my grandfather officially came out of the RAF in Feb 46 so probably came out at earliest opportunity following the rehab programme. He stayed I beleive at the Bal...

Re: Operation Exodus Images & Details

Guys, My grandfather was one of the first POWs home, but I would liek to know how he was repatuated back to the UK from Europe? His POW Liberation questionaire was dated 26th April 1945 so he was back in the UK before wars end. The reason for this is he managed to get away from the march when they w...

Re: Can you help with information

Pete,

Many thanks for the reply, I am not sure maybe he was switched to a sergeant and the contact has only provided me with his early rank.

Apparently he won a DFM can this be checked??

Yes late 1940 join up would match the familys records....

Regards
