Hi,

I'm not at home so I can't confirm but EF234 should have taken off from RAF Wethersfield in Essex, 196 and 299 Squadrons' airbase in December 1944.
I expect I'll can confirm it soon.

Hello, Here are the first details I found about Carles Myers and his crew: These airmen were onboard Stirling IV EF234. EF234 was one of 8 aircraft detailed this night for supply dropping to SOE targets; in this case a Dropping Zone 'DRAUGHTS 7' at position 52 degrees 38.55 North / 05 degrees 10.18 ...

Hi Chris, OTU means Operational Training Unit. 42 OTU was a 38 Group Unit where Glider Tug Pilots where trained on Whitley, Bleinheim and Albemarle Aircraft before being posted to 38 Group Squadrons. 1665 Heavy Conversion Unit was also a 38 Group Unit where crews converted to the Halifax and the Sti...

Unfortunately I won't have access to my 38 Group files until my come back home on Wednesday evening.
I expect I'll find what means GTBD and "C + BA 38 Grp WTS ".
