Re: 149 Sqd Stirling crash Thorney Island

Hello Colin, As well as the Canadian on board, I see the Australian Air Bomber listed. His A705 is not yet available, but for i think $16 Aus you can have it digitised. This is how it is listed; STANNUS, Harold Richardson - (Flying Officer); Service Number - 421411; File type - Casualty - Repatriati...

Re: Halifax found in Norwegian Fjord

Thanks John,
I'll go visit the link and see what information they have there.

The Halifax looks in very good condition from the short video shown.

Cheers,

Halifax found in Norwegian Fjord

Hi all. I'm not sure if this is old news or new. It was posted on Facebook today (25/10/2014) and I can't see a date in the the story. It look a little like the Halifax in the RAF Museum. Can anyone add more detail please? http://www.nrk.no/trondelag/rare-british-ww2-airplane-found-in-norwegian-fjor...

Re: SHORT STIRLING AIRCRAFT & CREW PHOTOGRAPH'S

Hi all, Just noticed this photo above of the Halliburton crew from 75 (NZ) Squadron. On the night of 28/29 April 1943 the squadron sent 8 Stirling's to drop mines in Kiel Bay. Unfortunately 4 of the 8 Stirlings did not return, with the loss of all 28 aircrew. The Halliburton crew were only on their ...

Re: Canadian Harvard flight

Great pic Max :)

It's a shame the Lancaster and yourself were not able to meet up.
Speaking of meeting up.....will you be able to catch up with Jim?
It's been so long since we heard from him (on that other forum).

Have a great time,

Wayne.

Fantastic work James.
It gives an idea of how very large the Stirling was.
Looking forward to following your updates.

Re: H Bell 75 Sqn RAF

Hello Evelyn, and welcome to the forum. I will go back and check my information to make sure I haven't missed anything. It's sad to read the feeling of loss your grandfather felt for Barney Shelnutt, it's something we sometimes overlook when researching crews. If you could help with the first names ...

Re: Avro Lancaster ND801 'Get Sum Inn' images

Hi John, Yes, Simon has a great site, with plenty of very interesting photo's. For more 75 (NZ) Squadron ORB's I am slowly adding both the Form 540's and 541's to my own Blog site for 1940 to 1945. You can check it out here; http://75nzsquadronremembered.wordpress.com/blog/ Not many photo's unfortun...
