Re: Short Stirling Photo Collection
Thank you John. It is not unknown for us to get snow in May. Presently the weather is very good - about 20°so quite hot!! However it would be no surprise if in the next day or so it rains and we are back to the low single figures!! It is also a Bank Holiday and for the weather to be so clement is qu...

Re: Another Sign Of The Times ............
I sometimes think that this stance by he Health and Insanity brigade is to gain recognition for themselves, rather like I recall many years ago a local Councillor in London who campaigned for for a mini roundabout in a street where it was inappropriate according to most experts. He eventually succee...

Re: Members Please - Your Thoughts On This Image?
I'm pretty sure the person who painted this was a mid-upper gunner - look at the size of the turret! Good to see they've included fighter flares in the mix. Possibly - and in Halifaxes for quite a spell too. Being a bit picky - the oddest thing about this painting is that the artist has drawn or pai...

Re: Vickers Wellington MkII
That is really nice - dare I say one or two notches above your Stirling. Simply because you have caught an "atmosphere" so to speak - it looks just a little weary - has that typical "Wimpey" look - a hardworking aircraft - which they acquired more quickly than other machines beca...

Re: Short Stirling - Something Not Right With This photo
I wonder if it was a "mid air collision"? It could have struck another aircraft a glancing blow - say from behind and this might explain the broken glazing? I feel that a nose over would have caused more damage and may well not have broken any windows? Must confess the two chaps up the end...

Huh... just a kid!! How about a picture dear boy to remind me what a sixty five year old looks like? Have you got your bus pass - I think they are great value - but do you know I got challenged the other week - they thought I had stolen it off a pensioner!! The sauce!

Well..... I'll go to the foot of our stairs .............. and you can go to the top of the class! Now, can you entertain us with something else please? We will happily give you a day or two to think about it - basically anything between 1930 and 1946, British or American and four engines or more. P...

Re: Airfix Short Stirling with White Ensign P.E. sets.
Undoubtedly this model is going to look very nice indeed - presently the "clutter" around it rather distracts the eye so when displayed as "finished" I really do think you will have something of which you can be very proud. You seem to have got the finish on the surfaces just rig...
