Re: Operation Identification Challenge 5
Richard, You got there just before me, been two days struggling to fix my m/bike for work tomorrow, and just got to searching, had a feeling that John may have played a crafty one, so looked at all the UK ports, then went down to Italy, found Genova (as its called on Google) YES!!! thought i was goi...

Re: Real Life aircraft challenge
Judging by wing and tailplane shape, definatley a Lanc, wingspan looks too much for Manchester.

"If" they are both the same a/c, i not sure of a Merlin Wellington, as it appears to have a high mounted tailplane possibly with twin rudders

Re: Operation Identification Challenge 4
I blame this one for messing with my head, i've just been doing a search for details on a 44sqdn crewman for Max. Last night before i retired to bed, i found him and made a note of it. This morning i came down and continued with the search, reached for the disc, inserted it, opened it and could'nt f...

Re: Operation Identification Challenge 4
It's beaten me this time, but it still draws me like a moth to a flame. Nearly late for work this morning trying to solve it, just had another go and have not got a clue as to whether it's in Germany or whatever. Cross eyed through following rivers on google to try and match up.

Re: 7 sdn Stirling brief video
Also, if not already tried, go to British Pathe website and type Stirling Bomber in, for some good results, including MacRoberts Reply footage and Short Stirling the first pictures. Note, that for some reason, if you type Short Stirling in, you will not get any hits.

I thought the top two barrels protruded less further out than the lower two on the Whirlwind, so i'm going to the same stable as the Whirlwind, and i'm going for a Welkin, with 20mm Hispano's. Got my glasses on now and can see that i'm a bit out with the gun mounting, they are not what i thought, bu...
