Just been announced on BBC Look North that they have been returned to the museum .. found on doorstep of Dambuster 's Inn ... great news..

Just had notification of this on another forum ... very sad that probably gone for scrap ..

Hi all ... Just had a look through the forum to see if anyone has mentioned having a copy of the ORB for this OTU ... and had no luck I have consulted the NA website to find this is one that has not been digitised ... so whilst I await an estimate to hard copy this ORB I though I would try asking if...

Tried him in Lostaircraft database and no joy ... am a way at the moment so can not look in the RAF POW book Footprints on the Sands of Time to see his POW listing but he should be in that ..

Hi ... would suggest an enlistment date of within this number block .. 1250001 to 1299800 May 1940 Uxbridge, Gloucester and Penarth according to CWGC there is no mention of a squadron/trade ( eg Nav etc) so hard to see if he was aircrew ( at that time I am sure LAC's were still an aircrew rank) or u...

Sad to report the passing in Austria of Gerhard Heilig on Friday 24th Oct 2014 a Special Wireless Operator ( S.D.O.) on 101 Sqdn RAF from 1944 - 1945.
... and taken at the 2011 reunion in Lincoln...
