Re: MkIV Conversion glazing.
Thanks for that, I will omit the lower sbd window on my MkIV, I am all but certain now that it wasn't fitted and that the illustrations that I have seen are incorrect.

WANTED - A picture or info of 7 AGS Stormy Down
Having been given some superb information on my earlier wanted, I thought I would try my luck again. My dad attended his gunnery course from 28 Mar – 8 May 1943. It was course no. 131. Again I can find very little information. Dad's memory is not good these days, and the illustrated time line of his...

Re: WANTED... A picture of Initial Training Wing Bridlington
I have just come across an entry in my father's Air Gunner's Association newsletters stating that 14 ITW Bridlington had entry photographs taken on the steps of the Pavilion. My father's course commenced on 2nd January 1943. Now I will have to find the course number! Who knows someone may even have ...

Re: WANTED... A picture of Initial Training Wing Bridlington
Just noticed my uncle was at 5 ITW, I just assumed he went to the same training wing as my dad. Oops!!! Where was no.5? I see the photograph was taken by a west country studio.

Re: WANTED... A picture of Initial Training Wing Bridlington
Your replies are most interesting. What then is the building that features behind the lads in most of the photographs? Does it still exist? The pictures attached are of my uncle Denis's course (bottom row far left). Denis was killed in an accident on the first night of flying at RAF Twinwoods on 25,...

WANTED... A picture of Initial Training Wing Bridlington
I am looking for a photograph of the camp, buildings, gate or similar with which to illustrate my father's timeline. This would be for family use only and not for publishing. Try as I might I can only find group photographs of various entries. I do not have a group photo of my father's entry either,...

Re: MkIV Conversion glazing.
Having now looked at several photographs of MkIV Stirlings from the Stbd side, it seems that the lower window was indeed omitted as per the MkIII. Oddly all the reference books that I have seen containing colour drawings show this window in place, quite a trap for the unsuspecting modeler to fall in...

Re: Looking for information on Stirling Aircraft & Crews ?
Hi Dave, Sorry to be a little slow answering this. Thanks for the link, I am aware of the Valiant Wings nose, but hope to make my own (see my other post under the modeling section). The illustrated build on the britmoddeller forum looks great and factory fresh. My own will probably be a bit more war...
