Hi John, Not bombing maps as far as i know. I have several of these, they are Ordnance Survey maps, it is printed in the top left corner, although they only show this on the UK map shown in the pictures. On a couple, they rather funnily state " Areas dangerous to flying are not shown on this sh...

Have to agree with Alex, they would have had one issued the moment they started flying training. I have a C/Command pilot's logbook, and the first entry is for Air Experience whilst at 26 EFTS Guinea Fowl.

Definatley Peenemunde, but the date will have to be a guess, so i'll go for the raid of 17/18th Aug 43, but the photo is possibly a recon op taken by a 540sqdn Mossie.

Hi Steve,
Still on 460sqdn strength at time of 28/09/44, on ops to Calais, F/O R. Cassie, captain. With a couple of other exceptions, she was the normal mount of F/O T.G. Fuller.

According to another online database, this was an "XT" coded 1657 CU aircraft that crash landed at the USAAF base at Rougham, but no dates given.
