This book may be another in a series by Stuart Hadaway. Pen and Sword published Missing Believed Killed : The Royal Air Force and the Search for Missing Aircrew 1938-1952 : ISBN 978-1-844175-734-1 in 2008. Thoroughly recommended.

That might be a Stirling Mk. IV which had the nose art of a female Highland dancer under the name "The Braw Lass" although I cannot be certain.

Barry Douglas Halliwell was Signals Leader with 199 at North Creake between 1944-1945 and was a special wireless operator who was involved in operating the radiocountermeasures which 199 were tasked to undertake in 100 Group. If it was 1944, that would point to him serving with the Squadron at North Creake. However, I will also have a look further back to confirm he had not joined the Squadron earlier. I will be in touch as soon as I can.
