I had a fantastic day yesterday at Wings and Wheels seeing the two Lancasters the Vulcan and Canberra fly, as well as other fantastic displays by classic aircraft. Whilst there I picked up two artifacts from 218 Sdn Stirling HA-Q R9313 which was brought down NE of Lurgashall by "friendly" ...

My father did his gunnery leaders course at Central Gunnery School at RAF Catfoss (Yorkshire).

John, this is probably true for those servicemen who claimed their medals shortly after the war. However like so many my father didn't bother until he had grown children in the 60's. The medals that he received from the MOD were NOT engraved.
