That first picture of the Stirling is interesting. Looks like they are loading two 2000lb Cookies on, along with a load of incendiaries'. not very often that you see a pictures of these type of Cookies. This film was made in the 1980's and depicts a bomber crew in a RAF Hospital suffering from shell shock. A brilliant play.

Thanks abc man. Nice photo...I see that the aircraft was also a "paddle steamer". I wonder when that photo was taken. The aircraft was shot down a year to the day that it was issued to the Squadron. Wonder how many Ops it had done.

I am reading this book at the moment. It is quit informative and an enjoyable book to read. Martin Bowman has written several good books on Bomber Command.
