Re: Operation Jericho
Red Kite have just published a superb book on this, telling the story of how it was a cover up related to D Day and how much of what happened was a myth. A related documentary was on 'Yesterday' about a week ago under the 'Great Escapes of WW2' banner. The BBC crew who made this asked RK if they cou...

Dennis
Regardless of who actually shot Gibson down, the information does point to the fact that it was considered a real possibility that one of our own could well have done, and so it was covered up.

Re: Gibson shot down by rear gunner!!!
I cant remember which squadron the fellow was on, but I think the feeling was widespread. Over almost 30 years of researching the men of the dams raid, Gibson of course included, I've probably found far more who disliked him. I've heard many stories where he flew into a base, or spoke to groundcrew ...

Re: Gibson shot down by rear gunner!!!
Its interesting that, aside from the main topic posted here, how many other stories abound, which become 'fact', even though they can be quickly discounted with only a few minutes research. Bob, you mentioned that the day after the crash, a German Officer told his men to bury Gibson and Warwick by a...

Re: The " New Dambusters Film .
Hiya John, good to be 'back'! Unfortunately I dont think there will be many updates for a while, which is the bad news. However, Peter is, as we know, a great aircraft enthusiast and I think he is very keen to get every detail right where he can. For example, they contacted me before and had photos ...

Re: The " New Dambusters Film .
Evening Gents, my first post for quite some time. I have been working on the film, but its been on the back burner for some time. Aside from some health problems, Peter Jackson has worked on several other films the last couple of years, and currently is filming 'The Hobbitt'. I doubt there will be a...

Re: Building The Bouncing Bomb
It did! The aircraft was the third of three 'prototypes' constructed to test the bomb and modifications. The first two (ED765 and ED817) were used at RAF Manston and RAE Farnborough in conjunction with bomb trials, ED825 was sent to the Aircraft and Armament Experimental Establishment at Boscombe Do...

Re: Building The Bouncing Bomb
Upkeep is right Bob, Waldeck is on a hill north of the Eder. The interview with Mary, and the photo album were both interesting, but again not really new. She has published a book of her parents love letters and courtship, and the one she read out has been in print before. The photo of the test in t...
