Re: Stirling Electrical Circuit Diagrams.
Hi Gary With the rarity of any Stirling drawings I would say that what you have is gold dust! Have you scanned it all in yet? Will you make it all available to us? What might not be realised is that the electrical diagrams you have will reveal a great deal about how the aircraft operated and a good ...

Re: Looking for information on Stirling Aircraft & Crews ?
Hi Guy I found loads out about various crew on Forces Reunited web site. Also try LostBombers.co.uk search on Stirling and other key words. The P probably relates to P for Peter, so the lettering painted on the plane could have been YD-P (the first two letters were those for the squadron I think). E...

Re: Last Stirling to be scrapped?
Since many Stirlings were in non-military service all over the world after the war I imagine that the real answer to this question is going to be hard to obtain.
I imagine, in wistful moments, finding a Stirling being used as a chicken hutch in some remote Indian village......

Re: Looking for information on Stirling Aircraft & Crews ?
Hi John
Thanks for that - had a look and only one possible, but none confirmed so they may have made it through. So that means more searching, I'll try Forces Reunited first I think!

Re: Looking for information on Stirling Aircraft & Crews ?
Hi I'm trying to find out if these people are still alive or records of where and when they may have died. They are the only untraced crew from 3 Stirling Bombers that left Oakington on May 2/3. While I know that they survived that flight they do not appear to have been with the same crews later in ...

Re: Landing a Stirling at Night - Many Questions!
Hi Upkeep I think that the reasoning is the same as the reason for circling airfields anti-clockwise, that is the pilot is sitting on the left so he can see best to his left. Also the Stirlings nose would get in the way of his forward vision as he settled on the field, meaning he would only be able ...

Re: Landing a Stirling at Night - Many Questions!
Hi All
Don't forget the other questions - The problem with doing too many questions in a thread is that one answer tends to hi-jack the others, I suppose I should have started independant threads but that may have looked a little odd!
Cheers

Re: Landing a Stirling at Night - Many Questions!
Hi Upkeep I'm running the airfield related questions in several threads at AiX and it's from replies in that forum that I have put the lights as a single line and arranged the T shape. I've been sent various WWII typed documents which generally support the T shape, certainly for emergency use of goo...
