Interesting photo John.
I was wondering why there are no "Ice Cream Cones" but, realized it wasn't built yet!
Sad to think that the poor kite didn't have many days left before heading off to the scrap heap?!

Since this area of the cowl is the Herc's exhaust manifold collector, the silver or copper colouring may have been high heat paint in the early days?
