Could someone recommend at good 'starter' book or books that give an overview of Bomber Command in WW2?

Apparently the cure for yellowing decals is to expose them to strong sunlight for a period of time. never tried it myself but picked up the tip from the Airfix Tribute Forum:

Unfortunately I don't have the logbook but I have already requested from Kew a copy of the 149 ORB. Just waiting impatiently for it to arrive!
I've also requested a copy of his service record from Cranwell.
