Good story, although the Daily Mail has not done it's research very well, stating it to be the largest bomb dropped by the RAF, when it was reasonably small when compared to Grandslam at 22,000lbs.

Jonathon, I do have the 161sqdn ORB, but not the other two, and would gladly sort out the pages that refer to ops carried out by the Eddy crew. Stirling EE879, OJ-G took off from Lakenheath 20.35 for ops to Berlin. Records show it crashing at Sputendorf, NNW of Ludwigsfelde with the loss of all the crew.
