Re: Dennis Over
As Lisa Sharp said, Dennis was always a gentleman. The last time I visited him, probably June time, he was recovering from a fall but had a very attractive nurse who made his injuries very bearable! Dennis of course had a fair amount of banter with her. Mercifully his son Graham suspects that dear P...

Dennis Over
It is with great sadness that I learned today from his son Graham that dear Dennis Over passed away on 4 October. His health had been failing over the past year or two with significant periods in hospital, but his optimism and in particular love for his wife Peggy remained undiminished. I'm pleased ...

Re: WC Eric Langlois - Logbook!!!
Well that's food for thought Adam! I know Rollo Kingsford-Smith liked to be anything BUT predictable when he was flying so there could be something in Bill's musings.

Re: Flight sequence for which aircraft?
I'd go for an Oxford Kerry, definitely can't be an Anson because, as Adam said, the u/c had to be hand-wound up and down. Very interesting to read the sequences though - again I agree with Adam that it's the kind of thing a conscientious pilot new to a type would do to try to ingrain the procedure (...

Re: WC Eric Langlois - Logbook!!!
Thanks Kerry, that's VERY much appreciated. I've been thinking about Eric's rating of average/above average. I'm sure the latter was awarded because of his previous experience on Wellingtons and as a flying instructor - he was coming into the Heavies with a wealth of experience behind him versus the...

Congratulations,

Re: 214 Squadron
Too early I'm afraid Steve, I've focussed on their Oulton period. Sorry,
Max
PS Yes thanks I'm very well indeed, even better after the recent Test match performance....ahem, sorry John.

Re: 214 Squadron
I wouldn't claim by any means to be an expert Steve but I've done some research into 214 squadron, particularly during their Fortress phase. Depends what you're looking for!

Re: Down in flames.... literally
I missed your initial post Alan, I'm sorry to hear about the fire and damage to your house - thank goodness there were no injuries or worse to your human and canine family. Regarding dog walking and coats.......just get out there!!
