I don,t think the B17 pilot mistook it for a "fly over" ,...it,s being towed. He may have force landed on the freeway out of shot? There is no damage to the bridge,,. not yet anyway.
Fancy trying to tow it up there with the props and outer wings still attached!.......Doh!

I wonder if the wheels are constructed of fibre glass?.... they may have cut a few corners to please the film directors budget and scaled down the size?,...the mock up thus becoming a "cock up" Or they may be real tyres?....in both instances, the underlying problem being due to inflation :...
