Flying model Lancaster
This is a video of Peter Smart flying his model Lancaster. Note that it is quite small and is NOT radio controlled. It is powered b y 4 small electric motors with a tiny "controller" on board for each motor. These controllers are set before flight to govern the engine run duration and spee...

Re: Sad But True ...........
I believe they had to be small of stature but one cannot also but think that not everyone would be able to cope generally with the claustrophobic conditions and the feeling of intense vulnerability from being so exposed! No visible means of support. I recall being told by one vet. that he used to cr...

No dear boy - we invented them for the lesser types to use - an example of our generosity in trying to make life easier for those less well endowed with with ability.

Re: MoD idiots ?
I think Mr. Flowers experience was due to only a mild form of bureaucracy. It is more likely he was the victim of the "don't give a damn" culture. We live in a tick box society and if the first attempt reveals no record then that is that - the "computer" is supreme and there is n...

But if you like trains then ideal! There is a nice hotel at Blakney (a little more select of course) but I would recommend either ...

Re: Getting old and grumpy, or rightfully hacked off....
Norfolk is planning a UDI (for those to too young to remember Ian Smith and Rhodesia - now Zimbabwe) that is a Universal Declaration of Independence. We have one of the few RAF bases in the Country, a gas terminal and can do a deal with Lincolnshire for electricity, a number of crack Army Units and ...

Re: Getting old and grumpy, or rightfully hacked off....
Our society has simply deteriorated. Have you not noticed that in a number of instances the common courtesies like "please" and "thank you" are omitted and many young people (teenagers before PC became fashionable) communicate by neanderthal monosyllabic grunts. We recently visit...
