Re: 1:48 Scale Tamiya Lancaster Build

John,

As soon as the shops are open again I'll go have a look at the Stirling.
David has set a high benchmark with his fine example, but I'm keen to have a go :)

Re: 1:48 Scale Tamiya Lancaster Build

Hi John,
Glad you're about to start your Lanc.
Good luck, and I'll be following your progress closely.
When I have some spare cash I've decided to have a go at a 1/72 Stirling. Probably in the New Year.

Cheers,
Wayne.

Re: Aircraft Identification Challenge No: 5

I agree with David, something not quite right about the intake, and I think the engines are mounted a little higher on a Sunderland.
Next thought is a Halifax, yeah, I'll stick with that, looks like a Halifax to me 8-)

Re: The Stirling - pros and cons

A quote from the book "Kiwi's Can Fly" "Despite what many non-pilots have said, the Stirlings we flew at HCU were beautifully built and finished. They were smooth to fly and so roomy compared to the Lancaster. The pilots seat was a delight. I found the Stirling light on the controls a...

Re: Serial number

Thanks John and Alan.
My apologies for the wrong date. Trust me to get it wrong
I had it written down infront of me, then still typed in the wrong date. I must have the same keyboard as Dennis :D
Thanks again.

Serial number

Hello all, and Seasons Greetings. I'm looking for a serial numbers for a Stirling of 75 squadron. Unfortunately I only have the codes, AA-V. AA-V was flown by Sgt Moseley and crew on 24 July 44 to Hamburg, then pretty much for the rest of their tour. His log book only records "V" as the ai...

Re: Looking for information on Stirling Aircraft & Crews ?

I note that in Errol Martin's book he has the Stirling "crashing close to midnight to the north of the village of Katzenbach, 23 km NNW of Kaiserslautern". A photo of the Pilot Keven Frederick Debenham here; http://muse.aucklandmuseum.com/databases/Cenotaph/23152.detail?Ordinal=1&c_sur...
