Hi Chris
apologies as I have only just picked up your post re the above incident. Interesting to note however that there seems to be varying accounts about the injuries sustained by the fighter pilot. Thanks for your contribution.

Hi Dee
I aggree with you entirely, unfortunately from a collectors viewpoint the fact that most WW2 medals were not named makes it even worse.

Norman Jackson VC
Hi John following your recent topic about the sale of medals reminded me of Norman Jackson VC and the sale of his medals at Spinks in 2004 for the sum of £235,250k. There was some argument about this amongst the media at the time. The family wanted to donate the medals to the RAF Museum. Hendon. How...

Hi John and Alan
For us it is difficult to understand how families can sell off an heirloom but so many medal groups come to the market. Such a shame but many cannot see the point of history!

I am looking to see what other information I can find but understand that the Hurricane pilot did survive but b...

Re: sherlocks squadron
Hi Steve congratulations on achieving your goal to record your father's career in the airforce. Dennis I guess many youngsters dreamed of becoming a spitfire pilot; but we all owe so much to the 'MANY', who gave their youth in fighting for our freedom. I cannot imagine spending as many hours as you ...

Stirling III 'Y' LK 380 90 Sqn
Hi all
Does anyone have details of a mid air collision betweeen the above Stirling III and a Hurricane, on the 09/11/1943. The crew of the Stirling were all killed but the Hurricane pilot F/Sgt J Brown bailed out and was injured ?
