Hi Folks,
Well, Steve got me going on this one. Having posted a daylight operation photo, I wondered how many I could come up with on short notice. Here's a few to start.
If you have an "RAF Daylight Operations Bomber Command Image" if possible, with any matching data.......... fill free to post it here.
The first photo is of BC operation Centre, followed by a great 'pinpoint accuracy' photo. The rest are all aircraft photos, most with bomb plots.
Cheers,
John

Here's one from the Waddington Collection; there are several others which I'll post when I've had a chance to upload them.

There is no paralell in warfare, to such courage and determination in the face of danger, over so long a period. Such devotion, should never be forgotten.

Yes Alan, I tend to think a picture tells a thousand stories ..................... Just looking at your photo posted, there seems to be a some distance between the aircraft / squadron, at the photograph height and those way down below. You can certainly understand how so many aircraft were hit from bombs above.
Cheers,
John

A few others as promised:
The latter two pictures are of particular interest to me since they were taken by Lyle Patison, navigator to Merv Bache DSO. Their usual aircraft, from which this was taken, was JA909 PO-E. This op. was to a railway bridge over the R. Weser near Bremen where Lyle's Lanc was hit several times by flak, the formation then being attacked by a number of Me262 jet fighters. Lyle says during this op. they came very close to being shot down.
