Born January 14, 1914 at Renton, Scotland. Died at home in West Hill on November 13, 2012. Bill immigrated to Canada in 1925 with his mother, brother and four sisters to join their father at their new home in Toronto. He began an illustrious career in golf at Glen Stewart and turned pro at age 18. He worked at a series of courses including Cliffside and Rouge Hills, where he was the pro until 1970. His golfing career was interrupted when he joined the RCAF in 1941 and served with distinction as a flight officer attached to RAF Bomber Command. He organized a golf team among the members of 12th squadron. During his time overseas, he maintained his membership with the Canadian Professional Golfers Association and is to date their longest continuous member
