F/O Wally Thomas Cooper DFC

Post by mross »

Wally Cooper DFC - Navigator on Stirling 3s of 90 Squadron - has died aged a few days short of his 98th birthday. October 2017.
He completed 2 tours of duty - First with Stirlings - second with Lancasters - usually as navigator to pilot P/O S.C Brayshaw DFC
There may not be many who remember him - but he remained a lovely, acute man - right to the end.
His story of the raid on Modane 16-9-43 and at which his DFC was earned is worth recording. Which I will do.
