Flight Lieutenant Eric Atkins, who has died aged 90, flew 60 low-level bombing raids with a Polish Mosquito squadron and was twice decorated with the DFC; he also won the Polish Cross of Valour on two occasions.

Many thanks, Steve. What remarkable man. To fly 78 operations, many at low level ........... and still survive to talk about it. I'm sure this gentleman had many a fine story to tell.

A very impressive character -- it's a shame the obit doesn't say too much about the man himself, but what a record.
