I was on a bike ride the other week around Melbourne, on the so-called 'Capital City Trail', which occasionally ducks below the level of the adjacent creek to go under bridges. Concrete walls keep the water at bay.

Well, most of the time. No great rainfall recently so I can only assume that some nearby roadworks disturbed something.
