K4KittyCrew wrote:Great stuff, Christophe ................. as James has said, images & details from private collection provide the best stories.
Many thanks for posting them.
Please feel free to post more.
Cheers,

I've enlarged this image ......
The person in the middle looks very much like Albert Speer, Minister for Armament, don't you think?

sorry for the bad quality of some pictures - if someone is interested in a special picture: send me a pm, so I will try to make it much much better
ok, life goes on, and I have to do a lot of things who may be more important (but none of these things is so fascinating like this "amateur-history)
Cheers,
Christophe

Christophe - many thanks for sharing a fascinating series of pictures! It puts flesh on the bones of another part of the story.
Cheers,

puts flesh on the bones....
that's nice, richard, and very very true !
alright, i'm now seriously infected, and so I'll show you some more:
what we also found in this envelope were about 50 postcards - some of them used to write and send away ("Feldpost"), very interesting details, very individual and fascinating, but most of them only to show where they have been and so on....
so there were series of "propaganda-postcards", about the RAD for example, "Reichsarbeitsdienst" (where the "career" of my father-in-law started 1939, 18 years old), and one of these series may be interesting in this topic:
here 4 very good pictures of mobile Flak-batteries:

Hi
The unposed day-to-day ones are so much more evocative - the one with the guns firing gives an interesting alternative view especially if you spend a lot of the time imagining being in an aircraft.
Great pics!
