As some of you may know, I was supposed to be flying on the CWHM Lanc this August but to cut a long story short, I'm over in Canada and she's over in England! A second best was a Harvard flight, great fun and I was allowed to fly her most of our time airborne, which I wouldn't have done in the Lanc! More pictures when I get home in mid-September.

Great pic Max
It's a shame the Lancaster and yourself were not able to meet up.
Speaking of meeting up.....will you be able to catch up with Jim?
It's been so long since we heard from him (on that other forum).
Have a great time,
Wayne.

Re: Canadian Harvard flight
Yes Wayne, I'm staying with Jim in a weeks time. We've talked on FaceTime but I'm looking forward to finally meeting him and Pam and hopefully going out in his boat looking for orca.
No Adam, we stayed upright.......but I don't agree that it was wasted. Just sitting in a Harvard was thrilling enough, taking off with that noisy airscrew biting into the air and making that distinctive noise was brilliant, but actually "flying" it myself was very emotional. I was thinking about Dad, who was doing exactly that as a 19 year old country boy back in 1943. He said how frightened they all were on the major step up from Tiger Moths to Harvards, especially since they had a couple of nasty vices that killed many trainees.
As luck would have it, this weekend is the Tornoto Airshow so we walked to the waterfront and watched it. The stars of the show were a Harvard display team, 4 of them, and a P51B painted in the Red Tails scheme. Wonderful....some pics later I hope.

Hi Max - bet you're having a fantastic time!! Only slightly jealous
I saw Vera at Dawlish last w/e - particularly impressive was the bit where she did her own aerobatic display. Red, white and blue smoke and all. When she'd finished I was amazed to see that she'd spelt out the words 'Woops - Sorry Max '
Not what I'd expected at all but it got the crowd going
Looking forward to more piccies!

Ha ha, very droll Richard! I hear she's been smoking rather a lot recently, sad that so many are being disappointed at not seeing her. My friend Wim Govaerts flew on her, I'll see if I can find the reference to his video later. In the meantime, more Harvards:
