Sad story for this time of year...
Sad story for this time of year...
My missus is a Practitioner in the local hospital's A & E dept, and she told me of a chap they had in last night, a 90yr old RAF veteran of WW2, who came in after being found after taking an overdose. His explanation for doing it...... he felt that he did not have anything more to give with his life. A sad story for any time of the year, but even ore so at this time of Remembrance.
There is no paralell in warfare, to such courage and determination in the face of danger, over so long a period. Such devotion, should never be forgotten.

Thanks for making us aware, Alan.
At least the chap is now in good hands and hopefully, a bit more cheerful.
Cheers,
John

Safe hands.... she don't treat me like that..... no seriously, she would not normally divulge names, but knowing my interests, she all but reluctantly let me have his name, and all i can pass on, is that he was awarded a B.E.M at one point in his life.
