By the way, fantastic job, I wish you well.
Hi,

As I haven't received yet my example of Flypast, is it possible to know the serial of the Stirling found in Holland?
I thank you in advance.

Hi Bruno

It's BK710 149 Squadron OJ-A lost 26/05/43.

Found in the Ijsselmeer, a lake in the Netherlands near the village of Marken. Apparently it's complete although smashed into numerous pieces. If they can recover the missing crew, and that's the priority, the intention is try and recalaim the aircraft and display parts of it in the Air War 1940-1945 Museum.

First bit of work in the new premises, with the addition of an altimeter to the new build Navs Instrument Panel. Nice to start doing something again :D

Plus a picture of an original panel by way of comparison

Here's a photo of the 1st Pilot's control column base which was recovered from Denmark (tail number escapes me I'm afraid although I know it was a Mk IV). Since this photo was taken (last weekend) the strip has commenced and now the base is separated from the rest of the mounting structure. It was a bit of a pig to do as it is fairly corroded and had suffered a bit in a fire. I'll have to re-take the photo of the split assembly as it has come out a bit fuzzy.

A quick update, I believe that the control columns came from LK567 (see link)

thanks Steve,

Glad to be here. No pics to update you with as the control column is proving more reluctant to come apart than the previous one. It is nearly 70 years old and has been subject to fire though......

Hello again

I was wondering if you chaps and chapesses might have some artefacts lurking in your collections. We're on the lookout for forward fuselage structure and equipment that we might borrow, swap or purchase outright. Sometimes even the smallest item can be of use to reverse engineer. You can always send me photos if you think we might be interested.

In addition, there's some items that we desperatley need to complete our main instrument panel:

many thanks in advance for looking
