Thanks Steve

I've got your email and will compose something suitable to send to him. Fingers crossed something will come of it.

Ps Some exciting news on our front but I need to sort the photos out over the next few days so you chaps will have to be a bit patient :D

Needless to say it will help the Project along immensely 8-)

I'm posting this here first in recognition of the loyal supporters and followers of the Project.

Last weekend myself and the Chairman travelled to Holland to the Stichting Aircraft Recovery Group 1940 - 1945 at Fort Veldhuis. A fascinating Museum and well worth a visit. Needless to say we went there to measure up some recovered parts and this was very successful to the extent that they have loaned us some significant items, such as a throttle box, floor panels and doors and part of teh cockpit coupe. they have also donated some items which will be invaluable to us.

Thanks for the update John.

There are some interesting pieces there. It looks like a very worthwhile visit.
How hard will it be to make that curved window from the canopy?

Keep up the good work :)

Wayne.

Thanks Wayne

Not sure about the window, one of the hardest parts will be to make the frame which is cast. The difficulty will be in making sure the casting doesn't deform during the process. We're getting good at working our way through such problems and I'm pretty sure we'll come up with a practical solution. Plans are afoot to make sure we get everything drawn up and modelled before the loaned items have to be returned.

Work is still progressing steadily and we've been drawing up many of the items that we have on loan from Holland as described previously. The 1st Pilot's seat will soon be assembled and so we have finally got around to painting the chassis and support structure cockpit green. This was colour matched from a sample of Stirling wreckage that we had previously recovered, so it should be pretty authentic.

Below is a photo showing P1 in green and P2 still in grey although both are now green

cheers
