Just a quick note to let you know that updates may be a bit sporadic or a few months. As I mentioned a while ago we are having to relocate to another workshop. This probably won't be available for a while so all of our stuff has temporarily gone into store, so we won't be working on any of the cockpit structure. In the mean time though we will continue with drawing up the bomb bay frames and I have taken the throttle box assembly home to work on in the garage. With any luck this will largely be assembled by the time we finalise our move

A major step forward for the Project has seen us take delivery of approx 300' of stringer material (which is about half of the final total of this type needed), this is with great thanks to Teversham Engineering Ltd in Cambridge especially David Allsopp and Steve Grantham) who have kindly formed the material provided by us free of charge. The remaining 300' plus 150' of 'z' profile stringer is currently being worked on by them.

Additionally, the Project is hoping to move into new premises in the next few weeks which will hopefully allow us to have some much needed stability, next step the laying down of the bomb bay jig

John asked me if I would write a few lines from time to time to let people know what we are up to. Last weekend was busy with five of us all working on seperate parts of the flight deck . As a follow on to John's last we have now made a new pair of Paxolin fairleads using the recovered ones as patterns, work was ongoing to the new brackets for the Sutton harness rollers on the seat top's and some plans were made as to the machine work required for the cast pyramid shaped pedal mounts . These will be taken to Cambridge Precision Engineering at St Neots on Thursday for a consultation with one of our members who is a director at that Company. We are very much looking forward to the completion of the drawings for the bomb bay jig
which will herald the start of some serious structural work. Kevin

Our meeting this Thursday with Cambridge Precision where pedal mount spindles and bearings were a hot topic.
Our thanks to Richard , Chris , Colin , and Dan . Skill and expertise need I say more.
It was moving to see original drawings spread out in front of old and new school engineers for an airing after 70 years.
More pictures when the items are machined. Kev
