Is this because it's classed as a war grave John?

Otherwise, I would have thought we would have some kind of treaty with France, as we do with most countries so that we could recover such artifacts.

Thought I'd post an image that James Harris has produced as part of a side project and which he has kindly allowed us to post.

This shows a Stirling in skeleton form in a virtual hangar. I'm sure you will agree she looks awesome.

I'm sure that James will be pleased to see such enthusiastic response to his work.

In the meantime, we're working steadily through the tasks at hand. The loaned items from BK710 are on their way back to Holland this week; to be honest we probably bit off a bit more than we could chew as we ran out of time to draw everything up, but the throttle box, floor panels, escape hatch and armour plate are pretty well sewn up now.

The P2 seat is nearing completion of the major structure and the team are now working on the detail parts for the seat, namely the Sutton Harness release mechanism and the securing roller assembly for the harness at the seat top.

I'm currently working on Throttle box version 3.0! The loan of the dutch throttle box threw up some errors in our calculations which were impossible to ignore, therefore I've re-made both side plates and am now nearly back to where I was at before.

A while since I posted anything but we have been busy....promise!

We've re-evaluated the throttle box based on the loaned one from Holland and came to the conclusion that our Mk 2 version had some issues that couldn't be overcome, so we've had a rethink and gone to Mk 3 which we think is pretty much on the ball now. We're now a bit further ahead than we were before with the incorporation of the u/c lever cable pulleys and associated spacers. Additionally work is carrying on with the Pilots seats, the photo below shows the addition of the Sutton Harness roller support brackets and retaining bar. This looks relatively simple to make but was in fact a royal pain as they had to be made from a casting pattern and we had to source the oilite bearings for the roller.17052014819 Lastly, one of our members has been working on the cad model for the Starter button panel. As with all things Stirling, nothing is ever simple or under engineered as the CAD model shows. This will be quite complex to cast as the material is quite thin and could be subject to warping.
