I have photos of Jack Edwards, rear gunner in 149 on Stirlings and Lancs . He was my cousins father in law.
His crew were Capt Reg Redman, Nav J Burrows, W Op Ted Sweet, A B Bill Ridd, M U Phil Carter, and FE S Penning.
On the night of 6/7 June they were doing an SO drop in Central France and saw Violet Szabo parachuting in from a Liberator.

Thanks for adding the photographs and information, Matte.

I'm a relative late-comer to this website so have just caught up on all the posts prior to yours for 149 Sqn. All-in-all, a very interesting read.

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks for all the info and photos.
It is fantastic to identify these great war heroine, her three companions and the mysterious liberator many years later!
