The Stirling Memorial Book and the Mildenhall Museum

Post by Bruno »

Dear members,

The Stirling Aircraft Society Memorial Book has been circulated around the regions during the past year, for members to have the opportunity of signing it. It has now been returned to the Mildenhall & District Museum, where the Stirling Memorial was dedicated at a ceremony in May 2009.

The Memorial itself includes a display of photographs of Stirling aircraft and crew, and a commemorative plaque.

The museum is in the town centre, close to car parks and the bus station is at:
6 King Street, Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP28 7EX
01638 716970, www.mildenhallmuseum.co.uk
The museum is open for a few hours on four days each week but is closed from December 25th to February 28th
Please check opening hours before making a special journey.

From 1st March to 24th December:
Sunday Closed
Monday Closed
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday 2.00 - 4.30 pm (Closed 4.00 pm November & December)
Thursday 2.00 - 4.30 pm (Closed 4.00 pm November & December)
Friday 10.00 - 4.30 pm (Closed 4.00 pm November & December)
Saturday 2.00 - 4.30 pm (Closed 4.00 pm November & December)

Best regards.

I have visited Mildenhall several times in recent years for the airshows. Didn't know about the Museum which sounds very interesting. My late father was stationed at Mildenhall for a while whilst with 15 Squadron.

Are you a member of the Mildenhall Register Paul. Its free to join? 15 Sqn are well represented and they have an annual reunion you can attend. Next one is in May 2013! ;)
