Veteran Kempton Cooper seeks info about his missions between Jan & June 1942 in 7 Squadron.
He does not yet have his MOD record and does not have his log book.
Can anyone help with info about his missions and crews please?

Thanks - he will be pleased as he didn't collect his log book at the end of the war!
Kempton Richard Cooper was likely a navigator by then.
He mentions an accident on 17 Jan 1942 when his friend Pat Duke was killed as they overshot, hit a tree, crashed and caught fire killing all on board (the Wellington?)

Thanks for the offers of help.
Mr Cooper has a researcher look up the ORB for those dates but may be glad of further assistance.
He'll apply for his MOD service record but assumes his log book has not been kept.
I'll investiagte 7 Squadron association.

Hello Mary,
I cannot find anything for a Wellington crashing, or an airman called Duke, killed on that day, or for 7sqdn. But, on the 17th August 1943, a Wellington of 23 OTU crashed in the circumstances you mention, killing all on board, and one of them was Flying Officer A.T. Duke, RCAF, who was an American, has Mr Cooper said anything as to his freind being an American.
Regards.....Alan

There is no paralell in warfare, to such courage and determination in the face of danger, over so long a period. Such devotion, should never be forgotten.
