Markelo Memorial

Post by Oggie2620 »

Over the last few years I have become friends with a gentleman called Benny Scheurs and his family due to their having put up a memorial to a 75 (NZ) Sqn crew who crashed and are buried in Markelo. However this is not all the Markelo Committee, of which Benny is one, have done for our Bomber Boys. Next year they are going one step further and having a memorial (using an engine and propellor blades - which is currently in Bennys garden!) in the grounds of the cemetery where 17 of our boys are buried. These are from 3 aircraft one of which is our Stirling.. Anyone interested in information can have a look at www.memorialmarkelo.nl which will tell them more.
