Found this photo in a very good book about the RAF, 'Illustrated History of the RAF' by Roy Conyers Nesbitt.

In Oct 1941, a Short Stirling 1 named "MacRobert's Reply" began operations following a 25 thousand pound donation by Lady MacRobert for the purchase of the bomber.
Lady MacRobert had lost three sons, one in a flying accident before the war and two while serving in the RAF.

There was of course eventually 2 "MacRoberts reply" as one unfortunately was lost on operations.

Have just received a copy of Stirling Wings by Jonathan Falconer and there is a picture of the first MacRoberts Reply (in the air) on page 16. The picture is one owned by Peter Boggis one of the first aircrew to use her so not one that appears in books often I would think.
