Short Stirling Parts from ............ E.E.A.Museum

Post by K4KittyCrew »

Hi Folks, Just wanted to acknowledge the efforts of a new member, ''ajgatessex' ( Tony ) with the collection of Short Stirling parts. Tony has asked me to post the photos but I'm sure he will come on board and inform us about the various parts.

Here at the forum, we are lucky to have members who are prepared to share their hard work and have spent a lifetime collecting parts of the great aircraft of Bomber Command.
We already have John L. and his crew on the Stirling Project ................. we also have Martin ' Hindenburg' with his great collection and now we are fortunate to also have Tony on board as well.
Great stuff !
Cheers,
John

Here is some of the text that Tony sent me ................ for which he can elaborate on.

"Hi John,.................. if you would like to post the photos and any info you may do so, I have noted some part numbers which are as follows, this is on the large linkage, the two stainless steel bolts 4291553 SS and 4291969, other parts SM1?94, 9K 3616 stamped over another number, 4291976, A 2261, small linkage in photo with many part in ST 7690, 1291651 and 1292106, I have attached a photo of our first museum cloth badge with the Stirling in the centre, the name on it is Raymond King
who the museum is dedicated to, he was a pilot of the 479th FG USAAF that ditched his P51 off Clacton 13.01.45, he died of hypothermia in clacton hostpital and we raised the a/c in 1987 and this forms the centre piece of the museum, but anyway other Stirling parts we have are the raydome, carborator, bomb release, practice bombs, various pumps and airframe bits and as I have a week off soon there may be a few more bit in the garden shed, if you would like a badge I will send you one as i have two, just need postal details, again many thanks for your help.
Kind regards Tony"
