Pleased for you Ian. My father would have "rubbed shoulders" with these airmen.
I am working on all of the airmen listed in my father's log. My efforts so far can be seen here. http://wallyswar.wordpress.com/other-pows/

There is nothing more that makes me feel so good than to hear forum members, who have found a common touch of their fathers and alike, either having flown together and or having found a common bond whilst serving Bomber Command.
Thank you for piecing it all together.
John

Hi Les
W.S Bellew was my grand father,
William Stanley Bellew, rear gunner in a 7 squadron sterling, shot down over Berlin,he spent 4years in stalag luft 3&8b.
I have many photos of both camps, mainly of the camp shows.
My number is 0 7 5 4 5 2 1 8 1 5 9 if you wish to know more. ( Edited by John to hold off spam attack)
Kind regards Ian Butterfield RAF retired.
Footnote - Hi Ian and welcome to the forum. I'f l'm correct, you phone number would be in Queensland, possibly Sunshine Coast?
I'm from the Goldy.

John
