Hello. My father, Sgt John DH Carleton (no. 612564), was part of the crew of EE905-QS-S that was shot down on 30/7/1943. He was the mid upper gunner. He successfully parachuted down and was picked up by Resistance in Givet, France. He then spent 6 months travelling with Resistance across Belgium and France. He finally went on a fishing boat Breiz Izel from Douarnenez France to Falmouth UK in January 1944.

I have some information about the other airmen who were also on EE905. Two men died in the crash (Sgt WJ Ford RAF & Sgt RC Broadbent RCAF) and their graves are in Belgium at Florennes Communal Cemetery. I do not know where the plane crash was. I can only find that it was around Willerzie or Gedinne in Belgium. Does anyone know where EE905 crash site might be?

When he returned to UK, Dad continued flying in Stirlings in Squadron 620 (I think). I am seeking any photographs or information of his time in Squadron 620 at Chedburgh airport and after.

At the National Archives in London there is a report in File Air40/260 which contains debriefing narrative from one or more members of this crew - the reports usually give a brief summary of the action in which the bomber was lost, the bale out and landing and what happened afterwards.
