106 lancasters

Post by ianlawlan »

my father was flight engineer in his first tour with 106 squadron.
i have his log book and was interested to watch a rerun of "heroes of the skies"
regarding a vc on the raid on 26/4/44 over schweinfurt.
my father was on that raid and was hit by flack but returned home unharmed.
i also have the squadron photograph from may 44 so all those involved should be on that photo.
i have a spare copy if anyone is interested.

Hi Ian,
I for one, would love a copy of the photo please. Did your father go on to any other squadrons after 106.

Ian, I joined the squadron in Oct. 44 for a short period coming to an abrupt end when our pilot F/lt Jack Barlow RAAF was KIA over Bremen whilst on a trip with another crew.

I would much a copy of the photo.

Ian,
Thanks for the email, letting me know that your father went on to 630sqdn. John (K4KittyCrew) and myself, have copies of the 630sqdn ORB, and also, John's father, was an A/G with the squadron.
Alan.

Ian, just wanted to acknowledge your post and as Alan has mentioned, my father flew with 630 sqn between 10th April 44 through to approximately 9th September 44.
Would love to see both text and photos of your father / crew, if possible.
We can also assist in posting images and data.

You will also note that Dennis being an ex crew member, who is also a wealth of knowledge, not to mention a dam fine chap!
Cheers,
John
