Thanks John,
Yes I would be interested to obtain a copy of Theo's Nightfighter claims book, is he a member on here?
In addition, I have emailed you about putting a diagram on here of workings out by a fellow forum member on WW2 Talk forum who I believe has 'proved' the claim from the AA gun battery at Marl for Stirling N6046, please can you upload (sent seperate email).
Also from a letter I received from Arthur Speakman (a crew member of N6046) said onthat night someone took their picture and Alick Yardley the Pilot told his crew not to smile or frown as the picture could be used for propaganda purposes. Question, who would have taken this picture?
In addition, my grandfather had his solid silver cigarette case with built in lighter taken, it had his name L E J Davenport enscribed on it. Who would have taken this the people/officials on the night or be taken off of him at Dulag?
I know they went to the local Police station at a place near Recklinghausen called Ickerotweg for questioning.
The thought that a picture and Cigarette case are out there somewhere, is a shame as I reckon I will never see them again!
Shame
Ian Davenport
