Hi there

Here's a bit of an update on developments since the discovery of the crash site 12 months ago.

Descendants of some of the crew will be assembling in Schwanheim, Germany to attend a memorial service being held to remember in particularly the heroic actions of kiwi pilot, Tom Wilkinson. This will take place on Sunday May 13th 2012. My sister and I will travel from New Zealand to attend this. Will Simes (the navigator's son) and his wife will also be in attendance. Welcome to the forum, Rob and thanks for the update. I hope you will be able to take many photos on your trip and we would value having a selection of them here on the forum. We can assist with posting them thru 'Photobucket' if you require.

Fascinating thread. One thing about the yellow spot - the paint is clearly durable, which suggests something specialised?
