Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the cockpit interior colour was of a Short Stirling ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Stirling Cockpit
Hi Steve
Depends on the Mark and whereabouts in the aircraft.
Mks I thro' IV have cockpit green for the cockpit as far as the navigators bulkhead and Bomb Aimers compartment with the remainder of the fuselage in aluminium. Note: some aircraft had the interior of the bomb aimers compartment painted black. AFIK, Mk Vs were black throughout

Re: Stirling Cockpit
Hi John,
Belated thanks.
Mk.III circa late 1943 early 1944, Bomber Command.
Also, cockpit curtains, was the rear of the canopy painted black? or were the curtains permanently fixed in the "covered" position. ?

Re: Stirling Cockpit
Some painted black, some with curtains, a photo of a particular aircraft will be the only definitive answer I'm afraid
