The ammunition feed to the rear turret was very long. You have to wonder how difficult it was to pull the bullets through.

Also, rather oddly, it seems that the early MKIs had the feed system but the turret didn't use it rather it held the bullets internally as the front turret did.

The attached model isn't finished - there were hundreds of parts and all seem to be individual - I guess we'll never quite know what went on in the rear turret area until someone comes up with a hidden gem of a photo!

Cheers
James

Hi James,

Fantastic work as usual.
Perhaps someone in the Stirling Aircraft Society or in the Stirling Project could answer about the rear turret?
Regards.

Hi All

I now have the ability to generate 360 spherical images such that you can sit in the aircraft and look around.

Soon Virtual Reality and steroscopic files.

Apologies the quality is not good - this is just a test to make sure I can go from model to web site. Do go full screen for best effect - click and drag to look around.

Hi Bruno

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately I am in the middle of house improvements at the moment so I can't upgrade the model as much as I want to.

However I plan to do a good many videos in 360 VR - planned is a bombing run with search lights flak etc. as well as a daylight take-off. I suspect that the night time videos will require you to actually take 15 mins in the dark to acclimatise your eyes in the same way as the crew, but that is all to come.

You will be able to buy a cheap VR headset to use with a mobile phone and so be in the aircraft (virtually) and look around physically.

On top of all that bear in mind that the model is only basically textured/coloured, there will be a phase where things will look much more like the actual item - oh and rivets, need lots of rivets!

Cheers
James

Hi James,

Take your time. We'll wait and I'm sure it'll be great!
Thanks again for all you do in memory of this great aircraft.
Regards.
