I've just finished reading this book and I totally agree. A Sterling effort from a Stirling pilot. Murray Peden's book gives a fantastic insight into EATS training in Canada. It has answered a lot of questions as to what went on at the various stages of training. It was also good to hear from a bomber pilot who didn't fly Lancasters. His description of his tour on Stirlings and then Fortresses and his time in 100 Group was well worth the read. It was only the chapter on his time as an instructor that did not live up to the quality of the rest of the book. It was merely a series of anecdotes, but, as he says, that would have been for another book.

I got mine through that South American river place John - fairly cheap paperback and the print quality's appalling for some of the photos, but the words are the important part.

That's an interesting book cover. I have a great-uncle who flew and died in a BU-H (BF330), though I appreciate there were a number of Stirlings which carried the BU-H markings. Does the book include a period with 214 Squadron? (214 flew Wellingtons then Stirlings before switching to the Flying Fortress).

Having posted hundreds of images, hope I can remember where I saw the images of BU-H.
I will have a look over the next few days.
